Normally, I say, ‘Non-fiction? No way!’
But wait….what about a collection of great classic poems presented just for kids? Or a picture book biography of Nelson Mandela? Wow, those definitely sound cool and look amazing!
At our house, we absolutely always need more non-fiction books like these because we read almost 100% only fiction.
But there are also lots of kids and families who prefer and read almost 100% only non-fiction too! Where ever you fall on that spectrum, Publisher’s Weekly has a nice, short list of superb non-fiction children’s books from 2013.
It has some prefect ideas for those who already love non-fiction or for families like mine who constantly need to broaden their horizons. I just love “Best of” lists, don’t you?!
